Our Mission

Operation Genesis uplifts and supports at-risk-youth to combat generational cycles of poverty and neighborhood violence.

Our target population includes youth ages 12-20 who are at-risk, system impacted, or have been directly involved in the juvenile justice system residing in underserved communities in SF. OG has been providing services to this population since 2013 and has built a legacy of trust and respect in the neighborhoods we serve. The organization was founded with the belief that our target populations need and deserve access to high-quality, culturally competent, and empowering services that center their wellness, healing, and future potential for success.

After the trip to Ghana, I looked at myself and saw somebody. If I step up and do what I'm supposed to do then I can be somebody, ...and, I can help people around me be somebody

- Mika Henderson, Operation Genesis 2014
I found myself, I am a changed person.

- Dontae Sullivan, Operation Genesis 2016
I  feel like I learned from this trip. I found my self worth as a person. I learned that I wouldn't be here today were it not for my ancestors being strong. I want to be strong like them.

- Travis Holly, Operation Genesis 2014
The trip to Ghana made me realize I owe my mom an apology. I have not been taking school seriously. I'm going to get my high school diploma because I want to make my mom proud of me.

- Clenzell Bryant, Operation Genesis 2014
